A Message for You

What if I have nothing to say? This was the question on my mind today as I sat down to write a blog. Somehow Tuesday had come and gone and I hadn't even thought about writing. Yes, yes, there were many things going on this week – Grad Fashion Show 2017 and Festival du Voyageur Concert to name two unusual evening activities – but that wasn't the main issue. The main issue is that I wasn't ready to write anything. I didn't have a message. I didn't have a story to tell. What was I to do?

Well, when I don't know what to do, I pray. So I prayed, right there in the middle of Tim's Tae Kwon Do class. Sitting on the gym bench with my back against the cold concrete wall. I prayed and I asked, “Lord do you have anything for me to blog this week?”

The answer came immediately. This is what I heard in my heart:

Of course Tracy. Tell them about My love. Tell them that there is nothing that can separate them from Me. Tell them to be strong and take courage. To know that I have overcome the world.
My power working in them can do exceedingly more than they can ask or imagine.
My grace is sufficient and My power is perfected in weakness.”

This is what I heard and I knew it was God's message because each phrase could be found in God's Word. (Well, except the “Of course, Tracy” part!)

And so I want you to know, beloved children of God, God really loves you and His love never runs out. (Jeremiah 31:3). He has promised that nothing can separate you from His love (Romans 8:35-39). He wants you to be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:7) and to ground yourself in the knowledge that He has overcome the world (John 16:33). Be confident that God's power is great – greater than you or I can imagine! (Eph. 3:20) and don't be afraid or discouraged when you are confronted with your weakness – that is a time to experience God's grace (2 Cor 12:9).

My prayer for each of you is as you read these words and look up the Scripture passages that draw you, you would hear and believe God's message to you.

peace and grace in Christ,
Tracy

  3. I agree! I so appreciate the verses that you have shared and also your account of hearing this in your heart as you prayed. It is an important reminder of how much these truths from God are available for us to hear every day.
